The report, Panic and War mongering: why are politicians in Kenya panicking?

It is apparent that William Ruto is spoiling for war, and reasons are best known to him. When i look at Ruto clearly, and listen to him, he has changed drastically. I see a frustrated and deeply indecisive man, he is not just fighting political wars but his own personal wars that i don't want to postulate as for now. I wont go deep in my analysis, but adept naysayers can create a direct connection between the rebellion in ODM and William Ruto. Start with the initial cabinet after the grand coalition was formed, move to the Issues of Mau, then move to recent party posts distribution in ODM where Ruto was demanding the Deputy party leader's position and now the Waki report. Is it coincidence that William Ruto and Raila Odinga have disagreed on majority of issues this year? Or is Ruto still stuck with the opposition mentality?
Let us examine this Waki thing.
I have no doubts that this is a real problem , but not just to Ruto, but for all politicians across Kenya. So why is Ruto behaving as if he is the only one who is in that list? and in the first place who said Mr. Ruto was in the envelope? Granted, i agree with folks who see beyond the facade of this Waki report. William Ruto is not just panicking about the Waki report and the consequences incase he is included, he is fighting a sectarian battle of political succession and political survival. He sees he has not been rewarded effectively, yet he could be fried for something "they did for someone else". It doesnt end there. It ends with what the community stands to gain or lose after this incriminating exercise. But what does the community stand to gain or lose? I dont see anything other that what they have already lost, politically speaking.
Paradoxically, there could be more Octogenarians on the Waki report from Ruto's political front, but that has to do with individuals, not the community. Did the community kill, maim or rape? The answer is nay. So why is Ruto dragging the entire community into his battles? I Beg to differ with by old friend Kutuny who says that they "were protesting" the bungling of votes. And this is how, did the women steal the votes and does raping them bring home the course? Did the kids, count votes, or vote for that matter? Do you protest a vote by stealing and looting other people's property? Waki says that the skirmishes were planned, that alone is reason enough to make someone go to jail. The reprisals mounted in Naivasha were post planned, and someone must go to jail, and here we agree with William, two wrongs don't make a right!
So why are the politicians panicking, yet they most probably never killed, raped or maimed?
Make your own guesses, but this is my verdict: The big fish must fry, so is the small fish. Kenya must rise above petty politics and individualism and avoid rewarding criminals as Kibaki is doing. We want reconciliation, truth and justice. In this pursuit we should apply the law indiscriminately. The business of law is to reward those who keep it, and punish those who break it; and not to act sentimental through psychological understanding. This is what it means putting an end to impunity. If we shield political criminals today, we'll have no country tomorrow. Let the octogenarians fight their own battles.
Kibaki, ECK, PNU, Raila, Including all other hired goons who played a role in the skirmishes, directly or indirectly, must ask for forgiveness, and where there is sufficiently adduced evidence, let them go to jail. Where that jail will be, i dont care, how many people have suffered worse than being in jail? Again, if jail were supposed to be lenient it wouldn't be jail, finally the perfect punishment for murder is the noose. Panic or not, maybe its just time we shouldn't allow criminals become judges in their own case, or what do you think?

Obama party includes a naked digression

By MARIA ELENA BACA, Star Tribune
Last update: November 5, 2008 - 10:45 PM

Call it naked enthusiasm. At 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jason Spidle, Bobby Becker and friends were celebrating Barack Obama's victory at Spidle's place in south Minneapolis. The champagne was flowing when the two made a decision they'd regret later.

"We had finished watching Obama's acceptance speech, and we were drinking champagne and cheering, and my friend Bobby and I just randomly decided we should go streaking," Spidle said. "We invited other people, but nobody took the opportunity."

So the two men, both in their mid-20s, stripped off their clothes and ran a block to 22nd and Lyndale Avenue S. From there, they turned south and headed for 24th Street, whooping and yelling, "Obama!"

They crossed the street and gave a shout-out to patrons on the patio of Leaning Tower of Pizza. 'They cheered and hollered and gave us high-fives, and we returned home to a lot of horn-honking," Spidle said.

About 100 yards from home, they were stopped by a police officer and trundled into the back seat of his squad car while he wrote up a citation.

"He'd had 'Cops' -- the show's -- producer in his car earlier that day," Spidle said, adding that it was too bad for the show that the producer had missed them, but probably good for him and Becker.

Spidle and Becker were issued citations and sent home.

"We were still whooping it up," he said. "[The officer] gave us a horn-honk, too, I think."

Now the two have to go downtown for a court date. There will be a hearing and probably a fine. What do they have to say for themselves?

"I think Barack Obama would be pleased with our excitement," Spidle said, "but maybe not with how we decided to display our excitement."

The vast majority of Minnesota Obama supporters who poured into the streets did so fully clothed, dancing and singing in the streets, honking car horns and punctuating the night with fireworks.

Around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Somali immigrants spilled out onto Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis to began an impromptu celebration. University students and other neighborhood residents joined in. The party went on well into Wednesday.

Across the river, cheers erupted as people spilled out of the Bob Dylan concert at Northrop Auditorium. Larry Turner of St. Paul ignited the crowd with his drum beats, which echoed for blocks around campus.

A more conventional celebration was planned for Wednesday night at New Salem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, where the Rev. Jerry McAfee extended an open invitation for prayer and gospel music.

What is wrong with being black?: why Obama victory is resounding victory for Blacks

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” Alice Walker

Last weekend i happened to spend three quarters of my time indoors, most of that time glued on telly on GOD channel, which i must admit is not a bad place to waste off a boring weekend. A session by one evangelist going with the catch line "what is wrong with being black " caught my attention. Up to now, i am yet to find out why he used that line in the first place if he thought there was nothing wrong in being black! To put it simply, this evangelist's idea of trying to demonstrate that there is nothing wrong with being black, is itself in bad faith. It replays that intrinsic con notion that "there is something wrong with being black, but that wrong is not extensively damaging".
Thank God that Barack Obama , he the famous "that one" has disproved these theories, i thank God he is Black. And what even makes me feel that black race is a great race is the way he kept the race issue out of it. For those black Americans, who have waited forever for emancipation, the time has come, the time to realize that dream : that men will be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Yet again, i see a more emboldened black race, and more inspired world, that this Obama campaign has wrought. As he put it, "your victory", i envisaged what hell it would have been for him to drive home his message without the confidence from the party supporters, from the Black and other regarded "minorities". The resounding message: You take people as far as they will go, not as far as you would like them to go.
It was not a mediocre campaign, but a professional, elitist, well grounded and strategical, again the message: It doesn't come on a silver platter.
I salute Obama, even if i were white or yellow, i would still salute him, he has defied the odds, and made history, am proud to be part of that history - as a Kenyan.
Long live Barack Obama, Long live America, long live Africa!

Poem on racism

When I born, I black

When I grow up, I black

When I go in Sun, I black

When I scared, I black

When I sick, I black

And when I die, I still black

And you white fellow

When you born, you pink

When you grow up, you white

When you go in sun, you red

When you cold, you blue

When you scared, you yellow

When you sick, you green

And when you die, you gray

And you calling me colored?

Why ???

Which way Central Imenti?

Central Imenti has again found itself on the cross-roads. We have found ourselves on the verge of indecision regarding the future we want for ourselves and our children. This is not because we do not know what is good, nay, its because we have sold ourselves out on numerous occasions through indecency of democracy. And the problem with democracy is that "the majority aren't always right!"
What am i driving to? Leadership, poor leadership to be precise.

I will elaborate. Central Imenti just like any other constituency in Meru region and in Kenya, enjoys a privilege wrought by democracy, its called the "veto power". The power to elect or vote into office, the leaders we want to represent us in the house of representatives, or parliament if you like. For decades, however we have suffered lack of representation even with this veto power.
Of the previous MPs we have had, 2 have let us down badly, that is Hon. Kirugi M'Mukindia, and Hon. Gitobu Imanyara. There is something similar and peculiar about these two men. While both of them were given a second lease of life by the electorate, after being kicked out parliament for a term, both of them have failed to impress the electorate in their second terms of tenure. For Mukindia, his is a gone case, because he is already home to roost. For Imanyara his is not cooked. However, i am opinionated that his is worse a case than of a donkey kicking its caretaker.
Let me explain, on September 11, Uraia and Citizen TV held a public meeting in Meru town to put on spot the Meru legislators and other leaders on their performance towards the people. Almost all the MPs from Meru were present with the exception of Peter Munya and Kiraitu Murungi who sent their apologies (according to Louis Otieno the presenter). Conspicuously, absent was Gitobu Imanyara, and he did not apologize. What this meant is that the people who came from Central Imenti could not properly raise the issues affecting them because the MP was not there to respond.
Present were Hon. Kilemi Mwiria, Hon. Mithika Linturi, Hon. Silas Muriuki, Hon. Miriti Mbiuki Kareke. Tharaka MP was also missing in that very important forum.

I could examine this situation further, but i digress. My question is, what is the need of haveing a legislator, if he cannot be put to task on what he has done or not done? The verdict lies with you, as an Imentian decide what power your "veto power" really yields"

Injured Essien faces long lay-off

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has been ruled out for "several months" after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, the club has announced.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury during Ghana's World Cup qualifier against Libya in Tripoli on Friday.

Essien will undergo surgery once the swelling around his knee has subsided.

England striker Michael Owen picked up the same injury during the 2006 World Cup and was ruled out of competitive action for 10 months.

Essien has been a regular for Chelsea since his £24m move from Lyon in 2005, scoring 14 goals in 132 appearances.

A Chelsea statement read: "Michael has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo an operation as soon as the majority of the swelling has subsided. We expect this to happen in a week's time.

"In the meantime, Michael has started rehab in the aqua therapy centre at Cobham which will improve the condition of the knee prior to surgery. A return to full fitness is not expected for several months."

The loss of the combative Ghanaian for such a long period is a major blow to Chelsea, who have no like-for-like replacement available and will not be able to buy any fresh faces before the transfer window re-opens in January.

Essien had landed awkwardly during the qualifier against Libya and was immediately taken to hospital for scans, with the diagnosis now confirmed by Chelsea's own medical staff.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's side, who opened their Premier League campaign with two wins and a draw, are next in action away to Manchester City on Saturday before facing Bordeaux in the Champions League and champions Manchester United in the league on 21 September.

OBAMA ASSASINATION GAFFE BY HILLARY

Was Hillary Clinton hinting at a possible Barack Obama Assasination?

When Hillary was asked why she is still stuck in the race for the democratic nomination, this is what she had to say "...up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.

Obama's camp immediately fired back.

"Sen. Clinton's statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign," Obama campaign spokesman said in a statement.

Clinton made her comments at a meeting with the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader's editorial board while campaigning in South Dakota, where she complained that, "People have been trying to push me out of this ever since Iowa."

Obama, the first African-American to advance so far in the race for the White House, has faced threats, sources have said.

Robert Kennedy, the younger brother of President John F. Kennedy, was gunned down in 1968 after winning the California primary. He had been a hero on the left for his civil rights agenda and calls to end the war in Vietnam.

Barack Obama, who leads Clinton by nearly 200 delegates and has already secured a majority of pledged delegates, has been the subject of threats. Early in the campaign, the Secret Service gave him a security detail at the request of Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Illinois).

Clinton criticized an "urgency" to end the campaign prematurely, saying, "Historically, that makes no sense."

She later issued an apology for the remark.

"I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation and in particular the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that whatsoever," the former first lady said.

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson defended the comments to The Post, "She was talking about the length of the race and using the '68 election as an example of how long the races in the past have gone -- she used her husband's race in the same vein."

Where is Imanyara?

Following the increased romours of the "Death" of our legislator, i would like to ask if any of our members has the knowledge of the actual whereabouts of Gitobu. Some media have now joined the blogs in enhancing this romour and its now becoming unbearable to keep silent and wait.

check out this:

Lucy Kibaki Slaps Gitobu Imanyara, Imanyara Retaliates With A Fist!!!
Posted on January 19, 2008.
There was tension at Statehouse this morning after it appeared that Lucy Kibaki had landed another hand on a newly elected legislator. This time the victim was none other than renowned lawyer Gitobu Imanyara. It is said that Imanyara retaliated by firing a fist salvo sending Lucy scampering to the floor in front of Mwai Kibaki.
Security men were called in and it is said that some of them punched and kicked Imanyara who was later taken to Nairobi hospital. It is claimed that Mr. Imanyara had been invited to Statehouse by the President to work out a possibility of filing charges against Budalang’i MP, Ababu Namwamba, after his attack on the President in what is now famously known as “The Standing Order Of The 10th Parliament”. The first Lady was pushing for the charges to be filed. However, Mr. Imanyara insisted that it was a waste of time causing an argument and its aftermath.

“Gitobu Imanyara is missing in action since he “fell ill” after returning a slap from O..yeah. Somebody needs to make his whereabouts public because many whisper that he is DEAD”. Butdoisay has been receiveing many mails, like the above ,from our concerned readers as to where is Gitobu Imanyara, after it was alleged that he was slapped by Lucy Kibaki, and then beaten thoroughly by the body guards whereby he sustained a spine injury and was admitted in an unkown hospital. Some readers have been saying that he is dead. We can unfortunately not establish if its a rumour or not, but some Kenyan readers from all over the world are concerned, where is Gitobu Imanyara? Butdoisay would be very glad to advice its readers if he is fit and well, please let us know his where about….and we are asking….WHERE IS GITOBU IMANYARA???…. .butdoisay…

Do you Believe in Love?

One thing for sure that can make Kenya reconcile, is stopping hate campaign. It means spreading the Love campaign, but just how many people truly believe in love?

MATTHEW 5:44 NKJ
44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse
you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who
spitefully use you and persecute you,

Most people believe in force: guns and armies.

Most people believe in money: "financial power."

Many people believe in education, that "If we just educate
people enough we can change the world."

Hardly anyone seems to believe in the power of love to change
things. No one seems to think it would do any good to "turn the
other cheek."

Jesus didn't tell us to "turn the other cheek" just so we could
get beat up more. Jesus believes in the power of love. Jesus
believes that evil can be overcome with good.

ROMANS 12:20-21 NKJ
20 Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is
thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals
of fire on his head."
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

God still believes in the power of love. He believes that if
you love enough, and for long enough, people will finally come
to their senses and respond to that love.

JOHN 13:34-35 NIV
34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved
you, so you must love one another.
35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you
love one another."

Jesus said the mark of His believers would be their love. Where
did we go wrong?

When the Rich Make War, it’s the poor who die

At least 800 people have been killed since the eruption of post-election violence that began after the announcement of presidential elections. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and hundreds have been maimed and we are still counting. Property of enormous value has been scorched, looted and destroyed. But amongst all those who have died and suffered under the auspices of this man made calamity, it is worth noting that the poor are hardest hit. This is sad because most of the poor absolutely have nothing to do with the cause of these clashes, few even understand the machinations and chemistry behind the post-election upheavals. The poor may have nothing to do with the current power struggle, but the battle is being fought in their home ground. Why for example is there no fighting in Muthaiga, or Karen or Runda? Why Mathare and Kibera? It is probably because that the poor are easy to manipulate, bribe and exploit. Exploit by promises of a “better” future, entice through handouts and incite against the other tribe on basis of their economic status.

But even as the political party barons continue to incite the poor against each other they sit together in hotels, with barons of the other tribe that is being slaughtered. Yet they do not slaughter each other, because they belong to the same crop of elites, but they will use the poor to achieve their purpose. At this time the poor are appealing for humanitarian assistance to be able to survive another day, most of them have no idea what a decent hotel looks like, stop a two star hotel. But the political chiefs sleep in five star hotels, hotels, that is where they wake up and start issuing political statements and summoning the press to give another warning of their impending mass action to press for justice. Justice for themselves, not for the poor who slept in cold, not for the mother who lost her son in confrontation with the police during a mass action sponsored by the same politician that is the face of the poor in Kenya.

The political chiefs make good their threat, and there is chaos all over, the poor youths have been bulldozed from their humble dwelling into the streets. Stones and slings their chief weapon against armed anti-riot police. But they have nothing to fear because they are convinced they are fighting for justice, question is who’s justice? Probably the political chief’s justice, who will pretend to be fighting for the poor man’s justice, until he gets hit by that “stray” bullet and the cause for fighting for justice gains a double, probably substantial meaning. But while all this is going on political chief’s sons and daughters are studying for advanced diplomas and degrees in Europe. They have never smelt teargas. No relative of the political chief knows how to throw a stone, so none gets killed in the skirmish. When its time for ceasefire, the poor cry fades into the slum, yet another poor man’s son has died in the fight for “justice”.

But not all the poor people are lucky to meet their houses intact, but unlike the rich chief’s who have to retreat to their secure expensive noble houses, the poor retire injured to burnt out shells of tin and carton, their small business reduced into coal and ash. Is this what they call justice?

Ironically the poor have little to gain in this power struggle, even if they “win”. The political chiefs certainly and eventually appoint their elite friends and cronies into all the available positions, and the foot soldiers, the poor who fought in the streets and butchered their poor fellows are forgotten, even in the books of history, they can probably only be remembered for their folly in committing crimes against their neighbors who had nothing to do with the power struggle. The future as promised by politicians remains not only elusive but also unattainable: a pipe dream. Its only then and only then that the poor realize that when the rich make war, it’s the poor who die, and that they cannot resurrect the dead.

ODM planned ethnic cleansing long before elections

I have said before that it is in the interest of everyone to know things as they are, because it is better than to believe things as they seem. We must probe all ideas before we can agree or disagree with them. Many ODM sycophants have fed us with a diet of half-baked facts and figures that are conspicuously a set of lies agreed upon. For example ODM claims they won the elections, probably they did, but can they prove it? I think it would be easier to prove they lost than to prove they won. But that not withstanding, and I appreciating that the polls were marred by irregularity, I must admit that not to oppose error is to approve it, but worse, not to defend truth is to suppress it.
So justice ought to be done here.

YES, JUSTICE MUST BE DONE AND SEEN TO BE DONE
Before I turn ODM inside out, my stand is Kibaki MUST accept defeat, if he by any chance was rigged in. ODM insists Kibaki lost, but did ODM win? I would prefer a loss to a dishonest gain. Until this point my verdict is, and will remain that ODM DID NOT WIN, until I am sufficiently convinced otherwise. Yet still there is sufficient evidence that the election was rigged, but ODM has a task on its side to prove that Kibaki LOST and Raila WON. It is not Kibaki’s duty to prove that he won or lost, he was declared winner. But before I waste my time on what doesn’t really injure me let me say that It is hard to believe that a man is telling the truth when you know that you would lie if you were in his place.

Having assembled critical information regarding ODM’s operatives, it is imperative to bring to light some of the TRUTHS that many Kenyans do not discern from this mess:
That ODM deliberately planned long before elections to use hate campaigns against the Kikuyu community branding them as “selfish bigots dedicated to tribal hegemony who will never share the spoils of the government with other communities”. This crusade was made on purpose to trigger tribal animosity against the Kikuyu in the rift valley. Note this was put in type and print.
That ODM intentionally and knowingly went further to accentuate their majimbo agenda that promised the balkanized communities against the Kikuyu that they will benefit from land and other property “when the foreigners get chased”. Note that this has been the major cause for tribal cleansing in the Rift valley, and the consequential looting of Indian’s property in the Coast.
That ODM deliberately and by design planted its men to create and disseminate anti-kikuyu propaganda in the mass media, in the blogs, use of email’s and sms with the sole intention of causing tribal war, and they successfully started it.
That ODM deliberately and knowingly planned to reject “un-favorable results” and to “manipulate results in our green areas” and even billed the role of sparking the tribal violence to one of its pentagon members.
That ODM deliberately and intentionally created suspicion of poll rigging by maliciously raising false alarms backed by no evidence to purport rigging incase they eventually lost in the poll. In addition they created fear and panic amongst the citizenry to keep off observers and agents of other parties from their die-hard zones in order to manipulate polls. Note that even Administration police were targeted.
That ODM deliberately and intentionally funded and sponsored militia to ignite and perpetrate tribal war against the Kikuyu and other communities that they “suspected” didn’t vote with their blockade, especially in Nyanza, Rift Valley and Coast.

It is important therefore to add that ODM was not prepared to accept defeat in this poll (whether the election was rigged or not), and it is very clear under all circumstances that they were and are not ready for any legal pursuit because they have no case. Ironically, most of those advising ODM not to go to court are lawmakers, obviously who are also their sympathizers and sponsors. And these law makers for sure are aware that any other means of trying to settle a legal dispute would be illegal and futile! But I repeat that they wouldn’t choose this path because they clearly have no case, no facts, no evidence and no standi locus. Their complaint that the courts are biased and will not be fair is mockery in itself because if there can be no justice through justifiable means then we have no country, so what are they fighting for if we have no republic? What that means is that we are in an armed struggle where the winner will be determined by muscle. But can injustice be used to justify injustice?
ODM has demonstrated that because it believes in violence in the name of demonstrations. The call for violence (in the name of demonstration) by ODM in itself undermines their cry for justice, why? Because Justice is two way, if you need justice done to you, you must do justice to others. Is burning up innocent children in a church justice? Is killing innocent people and burning up their houses and property justice? Does killing Administration Police accompanying ballot box add up to any justice? Does any injustice meted to people who have nothing to do with ECK justify the injustices of a rigged poll? Have you heard ODM call for correction of these injustices? But how could they when they are the perpetrators? When ODM say No peace without Justice they don’t exactly mean that. They mean ‘justice’ to their alleged electoral victory! But DID ODM CLEARLY WIN THIS ELECTION? Probably yes, but it is more difficult to prove they won than to prove that they lost. This is probably the biggest reason among other ins and outs they are not prepared to go to court.
By declaring “no peace without justice”, ODM mean that they are the cause of uproar, that they have deliberately sponsored chaos amongst innocent citizens to protest the rigged poll. What ODM doesn’t tell us is the extent to which they define justice. To them justice is when they are declared real poll winners. To them this would be justice even if it has to be achieved through murder, through rape in open day-light, through looting, through arson, through destruction of property, through slings and stones! To ODM justice is when they use injustice to achieve justice. And then there would be PEACE unlimited when people are sleeping in cold and rain on show grounds, schools and churches. To ODM, justice is when its supporters are allowed to get into town and plunder, to rape defenseless women and girls in broad daylight, to torch petrol stations and KIKUYU shops, and etcetera without the police firing a shot. That is justice defined in ODM pipe.

In summary ODM’s actions amount to gross injustices against humanity, and no amount of justifications will justify these wrongs. ODM will obviously be apt to deny that they never told a Kalenjin or a Luo to kill a GEMA or a KISII, but we have the evidence that they planned, funded and perpetrated and are still doing it. With the overwhelming evidence collated by independent journalists, lawyers and Kenyans of goodwill, we are set to present our petition to call for prosecution of all the ODM pentagon members, the ODM party officials, and in addition the following persons, and their accomplices who participated in planning and executing several hundreds and counts of murder, arson and breach of peace:
Prof. Peter Anyang Nyong
Prof. Edward Oyugi Akongo
Prof. Patrick Wanyande
Mr. Adams Oloo
Mr. Oketch Kendo

And their other paid accomplices

All what has happened has not been accidental but was pre-planned by ODM, whether they won or lost the elections. They have succeeded in tearing our country apart, but History and God will judge them, I pray it may not be harsh.
